25 June 2016: Singer Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur’s daughter Kaveri (12) launched her first single debut ‘Did You Know’ on Youtube on Friday that has received wide appreciation from across especially from the Bollywood stars.
Kaveri, a standard 9 student has written the lyrics of her own, she has composed the song she has written and sang the song. At the age of six, Kaveri has started her training in Hindustani classical music and later she has taken training in western vocals, guitar and piano.
Kaveri admitted that “Though I started to sing when I was about six, I didn’t become passionate about it until I started writing and composing my own songs. My song writing is largely inspired by the situations and people around me. A lot of my songs talks about very exaggerated versions of personal experiences.’’
She also said that “My parents have always encouraged me and supported me, and I don’t think I would have been able to discover my love for music and develop my talent if it wasn’t for them.”
Her outstanding presentation has widely been appreciated. Many Bollywood stars have tweeted in token of appreciation and congratulated this young girl.
Superstar Shahrukh Khan tweeted, “How our babies have grown ya. Am I right you debuted with me??? This is special. Bless her.” The superstar was impressed by this little girl’s singing debut.
Priyanka Chopra said, ‘I remember very clearly. This video brought me to tears. I cannot believe she’s grown up to be such a talent! So proud.” She also said, “Cannot believe she’s written composed and sung this. Presenting Kaveri to the world. So PROUD!”
Anupam Kher also tweeted, “Dearest Kaveri! loved your song. You are unique & brilliant.’’
The 12-year-old Kaveri made her parents proud as well as the Bollywood celebs. Many other celebrities and music industry have also congratulated Kaveri on her entry into the music world.
