After the first season, Miguel Sapochnik, a co-showrunner on HBO's drama series House of The Dragon, is quitting.

He is the co-showrunner, executive producer and director of House of the Dragon.

Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal are the showrunners of HBO's most popular series 'House of the Dragon'.

Miguel directed the first episode of the series and it became the most-watched premiere in HBO history.

The first episode was written by Ryan Condall and premiered on August 21, 2022.

The premiere was watched on Sunday night (August 21) by nearly 10 million viewers on the Linear and HBO Max platforms.

Ryan Condal, a co-showrunner with Sapochnik, will now be the only showrunner while Sapochnik will continue to serve as executive producer.

It was incredibly tough to decide to move on, but I know that it is the right choice for me, personally and professionally.

In the second season of "House of the Dragon," Alan Taylor, who directed several episodes of Game of Thrones, will serve as an executive producer.

According to sources, Miguel needed a break after working for three years on Season 1 of House of the Dragon.

In addition, he has a first-look deal with HBO, which will give him creative leeway to develop new projects.
