Coolpad is looking for the opportunities to utilise the best of it so that it can strengthen its base in Indian tech market. And slowly but it is steadily launching its new devices in India within the regular intervals. In this row, the company has now added a new member to its Note series with the launch of Coolpad Note 5 Lite in India.
Coolpad on Thursday launched Note 5 Lite and as the name suggests, the smartphone is the basic version of the Coolpad Note 5, which was launched in India back in September. Talking about the availability, the smartphone will be exclusively available on Amazon India from March 21st and comes with a price tag of Rs 8199.
The Coolpad Note 5 Lite boasts a metal unibody design and is available in Gold and Grey colour options.
Specifications of Coolpad Note 5 Lite
Display: The smartphone comes with a 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 720*1280 pixels coupled with 2.5D curved glass. The display also has a pixel density of 294ppi and a 70.6 percent screen-to-body ratio.
Processor and Software: The device is powered by a 1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor along with Mali 720 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s Cool UI 8.0 running on top of it. It is backed by a 3GB of RAM.
Storage: The Note 5 Lite comes with the 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
Camera: On the camera front, the device sports a 13-megapixel rear camera coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera alone with front flash.
Battery: The device is juiced up by a 2500mAh battery which the company claims give a standby time of 200 hours.
Dimensions: The smartphone weighs 148 grammes and measures 145.3×72.3×8.7mm.
Connectivity Features of Coolpad Note 5 Lite
On the connectivity front, the device supports the 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, Micro-USB and USB OTG Support with dual SIM support. The Sensors on board include accelerometer, ambient light sensor and proximity sensor.
The smartphone also features a fingerprint sensor which can be used to unlock, to make or receive calls, open applications and even to take pictures.
At the event, Coolpad also announced it now has over 380 service centres in India, across 29 states. It also revealed it had managed to sell 2 million Coolpad Cool 1 Dual smartphones globally.
Talking about the weaker parts in the smartphones, the battery size and the 1 GHz capacity of the processor are the talking points among the weaknesses. Overall, this (Note 5 Lite) could prove out to be a great budget smartphone in the Rs 8000 range smartphones. So, Coolpad has got the opportunity to attract a number of buyers but all it needs is a more intense marketing strategy.
