3 June 2016: The Delhi police will give special training to several police control room (PCR) personnel staffs to learn English fluently with a foreign accent in order to deal with the foreign nationals.
This learning would help the cops to understand and improve in the clarity and communication skills while dealing with the foreign nationals who come to report with their various complaints, queries and issues.
Apart from learning English with a foreign accent, the PCR staffs would also be given task to attend the calls on the helpline numbers for foreigners, which will be soon trained by some foreign nationals and experts.
A senior police officer said that, the police personnel will be given training to learn and speak English fluently with the foreign accent so that they could assist the foreigners in distress and who come to them with complaints and other related issues.
To establish better communication, the Delhi police will deploy to deal with the foreign nationals on its helpline number as well as to tackle the situation through face to face communication, says the report.
The senior police officer said that, the official helpline number 100 has been the first number that is responded for its grievances and crime related issues.
Now the police department has also launched a 10 digit number exclusively for a foreign national’s to file any kind of complaints or queries living in the city. The department ensures that, at least one police officer at the control room would be available 24×7 for addressing the grievances of the foreigners.
