Preliminary Talks for Spin-off
It would be difficult for the creators and the channel producers to fill the void which Game of Thrones will leave, but the initial talks have started for a new series is which is said to be a prequel. Currently HBO is relishing the success of another hit show Westworld. While there is nothing like George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels which got converted into the hit show.
Financially rich show
The important thing about Game of Thrones is that financially it is costliest and high revenue producing show. Moreover, fans will also be looking for a spin off series. EW recently spoke to the programming president of HBO, Casey Bloys who explained that they are currently having preliminary talks for a prequel. Casey explains, “I would say it’s still kind of preliminary ongoing talks. There are areas we are exploring, but I wouldn’t point to any one and say, ‘This is what we’re going to do”.
Fans keeping their hopes alive
Bloys was also asked whether the GOT final episodes could be released in theaters, To which he turned down and said that he wants everything to be on HBO. Many fans were in distress when they came to known that their popular show will end after season 8 but this new announcement will lighten up their hope.
The question is that when we will be getting the confirmed news about the GOT prequel and most of all which new characters will feature if the announcement is done. Apart from that, the network has few years to decide before the series ends, which is enough to break the happy news for its most loyal fans.
