PM Narendra Modi has given his Christmas gift to the citizens by launching two NITI Aayog schemes referring to them as “A Christmas gift to remember”, namely ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’ and ‘Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana’.
“These 2 schemes will further incentivise digital payments”, Narendra Modi tweeted.

Adding to the series of tweets advertising the two new schemes, he wrote, “Strategic push towards increased cashless transactions…. A big boost to move towards cashless and corruption free India. Two new schemes launched.”
NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant said that the two schemes will deal in the cash transactions ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 3000 which is supposed to acquaint the masses at the root level with the digital platform for transactions.
Furthermore, to enhance the use of cashless transaction modes, the government will initialise the daily and weekly cash prizes amounting to Rs 340 crore starting from Christmas Day. A mega draw will be held on December 25 and April 14 i.e. the birth anniversary of BR Ambedkar.
“Focus of Lucky Grahak and Digi-Dhan Yojana is on poor, middle class and small businesses so as to bring them into digital payments revolution”, said Amitabh Kant.
A total of 15,000 winners of Rs 1,000 each for next 100 days will be announced by National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), starting from December 25. Weekley awards will be bagged by the consumers and the merchants, totalling 7000 awards.
