Reddit Cofounder Mr. Christopher Slowe have today announced that they have introduced a new feature in the social media for blocking users. The main aim of the introduction of this features is to provide more security for any user that will prevent you from spam, harassment and Trolling.
Blocking a particular user was already implemented before since the beginning but this is a newly improved User block feature which you can filter the post, message, and comments that you want to manage. While the feature also enables you to make changes in their profile which you can handle in the user’s preferences page. And the new change that has been made is the user who is blocked won’t be notified while you can also report the abusive texts or comments or troll too.
According to the co-founder of Reddit, Christopher Slowe has told that Reddit is the place for anyone to join virtually share their thoughts, views, personal and intimate feelings and post their favourite quotes and images. And in turn, this also help people to make a decision together and make good discussion while there are also some abusive people who interfere into other business and creating worse spam, troll and harrasmnet virtually in front of the world. And so to encounter this problem faced by many innocent users, they can now easily block the abusive character from their community to avoid further harassment.
Alexis Ohanian, Cofounder of Reddit also have comment into this matter saying it is very difficult to make the change in the website but it is also the website’s duty to favour into the user’s priority for making best in Reddit.
Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian also mentioned how difficult it is to carry out a major change like this on the website, as it was initially designed to let users take care of any issue themselves.
And after having control over blocking users feature, it can be the best solution for anyone to prevent spam and trolling and yet it can be done without making them notice that they were blocked.
