PM Modi and China: A Chinese Daily has recently published an article titled, “Beijing offers clues for Modi’s new anti-corruption moves” suggesting better ways in which PM Modi could have had carried out his plans to curb black money and corruption.
PM Modi and China – Chinese Daily gives a piece of advice to PM Modi
“Modi means well and his decision was made based on the reality in India, since most illegal business in the underground economy is cash-only, and 500 and 1,000 rupee notes constitute over 80 per cent of all cash circulation in India. Nevertheless, we can hardly count on the new rule to fully root out corruption… And yet, delivering a corruption-free country requires more than banning currency notes. The key should be reforming systems. In this regard, New Delhi might need to look for ideas from Beijing.”

The article mainly pointed out the ‘inefficiencies’ in the demonetization move carried out by PM Modi and gave a number of alternative suggestions on how to curtail the problem of black money in India better.
The article said that on the flipside, the Chinese government has been closely monitoring the root causes of corruption and attacking them by deepening of judicial laws, better monitoring system and an introduction of stringent actions against it.
It further stated that “more time is needed to see whether Modi’s new policy will turn into a huge blow against corruption in India”.
