Reserve Bank of India will soon release new notes of Rs 1000 in the coming months. Economic Affairs Secretary, Government of India Shaktikanta Das on Thursday said that a new note of Rs 1000 will be released in the coming months. Talking about the notes Das said new color combination and new design Rs 1000 notes will be released in a few months.
Soon new notes will be introduced with new features
Das further said that the denomination of notes will be reintroduced with a new design and new features. Soon, the new series of notes will be suffused in the market from time to time. Shaktikanta Das also cleared that status of existing Rs 100; Rs50 other denomination notes will continue to be legal tender.
The high-value notes would be different than earlier notes
Shaktikanta Das further added that the new notes of Rs 500 would have extra features viewing security perspective such as theme, color and size which totally differ than earlier series. The Rs 500 banknotes will be stone gray in color with a predominant new theme of the Indian heritage site Red Fort.
The Rs 2,000 notes are being introduced for the first time. The eye-catching, magenta color of Rs 2000 notes with Mangalayan imprinted on the reverse side will have geometric patterns aligning with the overall color scheme both on the reverse and obverse.
