Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda revealed on Friday that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy.
She made the announcement on Instagram with her 1.9 million followers.
So, my dear friends, I have something personal I want to share. I’ve been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and have started chemo treatments.
Further she said, This is a very treatable cancer. 80% of people survive, so I feel very lucky.
The 84-year-old American actress Fonda announced that she has started chemotherapy and will continue it for six months.
After making the announcement on social media, Fonda received well wishes from a large number of famous people as well as her peers.
Jane also said that the diagnosis taught her the importance of community.
Of growing and deepening one’s community so that we are not alone. And the cancer, along with my age --almost 85-- definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.
