Censor Board stuck Modi themed Film: Central Board of Film Certification refused to clear film ‘Modi Ka Gaon’, which is based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s agenda of developing India. The film is produced by Suresh Jha and co-directed by Tushar Goel. Censor board has raised the issue of casting Modiji’s look-alike Vikas Mahante as Modi.
Suresh Jha, the producer of medium-budget Modi’s film said,” They have stipulated conditions which are so difficult to comply with that I might as well forget about releasing the film.”
The option thatthey have offered us,”The golden solution: ‘Get an NOC from the Election Commission’ … I think this must be the first time the EC is expected to preview a film and clear it before the authorised body, the CBFC certifies it”.
The film is about Modiji’s development agenda and his vision for transforming the country … How can I possibly portray all this with somebody who does not resemble him.”
