World Pro Kabaddi Cup 2016: World Kabaddi Cup To Start from October 7th, Teams, Fixtures and all Updates

Pro Kabaddi has succeeded to get the public attention and support after the grand success of Pro Kabaddi Leagues in association with Star Sports. This year, Star Sports also conducted a league for the women pro kabaddi players as well, which also was received well by the audience. Overall, the Pro Kabaddi has seen a tremendous and unexpected growth, as its viewership was way more than the Indian Cricket matches at that time.

With the great success of the league tournaments, now India is hosting the World Kabaddi Cup 2016 in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) and will start from October 7th, 2016. 2016 IKF World Kabaddi Cup is a tournament held every year by the International Kabaddi federation (IKF). 12 teams from different nations will be seen participating in this tournament.

12 teams from different nations will be seen participating in this tournament and the tournament is structured like the teams from different Olympic geographies are divided into two pools.

Star Sports is the official broadcaster for the entire World Cup Tournament.  All the matches of the tournament will be exclusively telecasted on Star Sports and Hotstar.

So far, only three teams have announced their team captains. The Indian team will be led by Star Indian Kabaddi Player Anup Kumar, whereas Iranian team will be led by one of the star defenders of Pro Kabaddi League, Meraj Sheykh and English Team will be led by Someshwar Kalia.

Fixtures of the matches( Group matches, Semis and Final)

The teams will play in a fortnight-long tournament in a round robin league round format, followed by semi-finals and a super-exciting finale on Oct 22, 2016. All its matches will be held in Ahmedabad at the brand new state-of-the-art stadium, The Arena by TransStadia.
