In a collision of truck and minibus, around 14 people were killed and three others were critically injured near Valthera Patiya village of Ahmedabad district, Police said on Saturday. Minibus was filled with 17 pilgrims.
Victims were coming back to their homes from pilgrimage sites
The collision of truck and bus took Place on Friday night when the bus, carrying pilgrims from Sokhda village in Rajkot district, collided head-on with a speeding truck, they said.
All the victims were coming from Pavagadh-a pilgrimage site in Panchmahals district of Gujarat and were headed to their homes at Sokhda in Rajkot district when the accident took place.
The driver of the truck escaped with his vehicle. We are looking for the truck,” an official of the koth police station in Dholka taluka said.
Police is trying to nab the absconding truck driver
DYSP HJ Parmar of Dholka said that the accident took place on the Dholka- Bagodara highway killing 14 on the spot whereas three injured have been rushed to Ahmedabad civil hospital.We are trying our level best to nab the truck driver, who is absconding after the accident,” said Parmar.
