We already heard the news that Game of Thrones will come to end after two seasons. The recent cut in episodes of Conviction and Pure genius has been somehow difficult for fans to digest, especially the news of GOT. But the big thing which has happened is, these major TV shows will face the demise after their last season which are either premiering or will premiere soon. The producers have already packed up these shows and believe me, I even filed petition to save some of the major TV shows.
Major TV shows like Grimm, Duck Dynasty, and Bates Motel will give us the one last chance to enjoy those moments with our favorite characters. Let’s take a look at them one by one.
Major TV shows – Grimm
Grimm was one of the class shows which ran for five seasons. The series started in 2011 and in no time became favorites among the audience. The supernatural police procedural drama was completely different from other shows. The story was adapted from Grimm Brothers, a fairy tale and producers turned it into the major TV shows. However, for couple of season ratings were not good leading NBC to both cancel the drama and push it back to mid season. The final set of episodes will hit the schedule in 2017, starting on Friday, January 6.
Black Sails
Starz got its programming birth when they launched Black Sails four seasons ago. Black sails turned out the major TV shows and also the one which gave Starz, new heights. The show ran successfully for four seasons. The pirate based drama will be ending after its last season which will be airing mid season. The series will always be remembered because it helped the channel during its launching stage. The final season premieres on Sunday, January 29.
Duck Dynasty
Duck Dynasty is highest rated reality and the major TV shows ever. Just like Black Sails helped Starz in getting into the picture. Duck Dynasty put A&E on the road of original programming. The show helped the network into earning billions. The latest news from the Duck clan is that, the show will come to an end; the upcoming season 11 have been scheduled in early 2017.
Pretty Little Liars
The famous teen mystery drama has entertained us for quite a long time will be ending now. Pretty Little Liars has already aired the first half of the final season and the cancellation has upset everyone. The half season is still remaining and if you are in love with these pretty girls, you will get to see them soon on freeform channel. Pretty Little Liars is one of the major TV shows, that will be back in April for the final time.
Bones
Bones is the third longest running major TV shows of David Boreanaz after Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and Angel. Along with NCIS, Bones stepped into season 12. Bones is the major TV shows expected to wrap up, it earned a last minute call from Fox, which is allowed the show to wrap up in a way that will hopefully give fans closure. New episodes will hit the schedule on Tuesday, January 3.
Bates Motel
Just like A&E is giving final adieu to Duck Dynasty and Longmire, final goodbye to Bates Motel will be given next year. All the shows ending in one go, Bates Motel will premiere its final season 5 in 2017. The major TV shows got a new lease of life when it was renewed couple of years ago. This time its an end, but if the series gets a new life. It will depend on how the season 5 performs which has been scheduled in March 2017.
The Vampire Diaries
Vampire Diaries has been the major TV show which came to end when Nina Dobrev left the series. The series got another bump when its ratings were noted as negative which pushed the series to Fridays. The series got its final eight seasons that started in October and is currently running on CW. If you love vampire drama, then catch the series on Friday nights on the CW.
Hand of God
Netflix’s original drama Hand of God, will be ending after the season 2. Though, the series entered the list of major TV shows ending this season. It didn’t performed that well as expected by the producers, but it was better than Mad Dogs. Actor Ron Perlman became an overnight sensation due to the series. He was also the part of Sons of Anarchy series. Hand of God got season 2 premiere dates have not been announced by Netflix. The series is scheduled in 2017 and this will be the final season of the show.
Bloodline
Bloodline is another series from Netflix after Hand of God, which will be ending after season 3. These two have been the major TV shows which got appreciation from fans. Bloodline, which was a family drama filled with murder and mystery got positive reviews from its fans. The producers have announced for the last season, the show used to feature in the spring. Till now, Netflix has not finalized any dates.
Girls
HBO’s Girls will be ending after season 6. Girls was the major TV show which aggregated positive reviews. It was one of the hot series. The show was written by Lena Dunham but not before the final episodes of Girls are slated to release on Sunday, February 12.
