2 June 2016: Siwan Journalist Rajdeo Ranjan, a Bureau chief of Hindi daily Hindustan, a sister concern of the Hindustan Times on May 13 was shot dead at a Siwan railway station. The main suspect and conspirator Laddan Mian surrenders before the police on Thursday Morning in connection to the murder of senior journalist.
According to the source, Laddan who have been absconding along with his family since the murder of senior journalist, the police department have sealed the districts borders for the hunt for Mian, said the Siwan superintendant of police. The police have carried out raids all over the districts of Bihar and also the neighboring of Uttar Pradesh to seize for Laddan Mian on remand.
It is learnt that, Laddan was released from the jail 15 days before the murder of Siwan Journalist. Laddan have fled away 2 hours after the murder of Ranjan. Laddan was known to be a close aide and a sharpshooter for Shahabuddin, a former Rashtriya Janata Dal(RJD) MP, who is currently serving a life sentence in prison for the abduction and murder of two people in 2004.
The police have brought Laddan Mian before the court, intend a plea for the 15 day on remand to interrogate and corroborate the evidence on the murder of Rajdeo Ranjan, a senior journalist.
Five people have been arrested a week ago on suspicion and charges in connection against the murder plot of the Siwan Journalist. The arrested people later confessed the crime.
Further investigation, it came to light that the main order for the killing of Ranjan came from within the Siwan jail, where Shahabuddin was lodged. Police have arrested nearly 10 to 20 people close to Laddan Mian in connection to the murder conspiracy of Rajdeo Ranjan. The CBI is set to take over the investigations.
