2 June 2016: PM Narendra Modi on Thursday wishes progress to the people of Telangana on their second Anniversary of the statehood day. The Telangana State will be celebrating its second state day today on 2 June. To mark the occasion, the Government has made a special sanction of fund to organize the celebration in all districts of the state.
According the source, the main official function will be held at the parade ground where the CM K Chandrasekhar Rao will attend the program.
PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “On the Statehood day of Telangana, my greetings to the people of Telangana. I hope the state progresses to new heights in the years to come”.
The Telangana state came into existence on 2 June 2014 as per the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act Passed in parliament. Telangana is the 29th state of the country with a population of 35 million which also includes the former districts of Andhra Pradesh and the city of Hyderabad which will be the joint capital of the two states for the next ten years.
It can be seen that many government buildings like, including secretariat and public areas in the state have been decorated with various colors and lights to celebrate the occasion.
To mark this occasion, several cultural programs have been lined up by different government agencies. During this celebration, it is also learnt that the state government will announce various awards for a number of persons from different fields in recognition of their meritorious service, as per statement.
