Supreme Court on national anthem: Every cinema owner will have to play National anthem before screening the films in the cinema hall. The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed that the national anthem accompanied by the national flag must be played before all film screenings in the cinema halls and folks who would present in the hall must stand and pay respect.
National anthem can encourage patriotism among masses
The Apex court said, “National anthem can instill a sense of committed patriotism and nationalism and citizen use respect national anthem and the national flag.”
SC has directed the Centre to assure that the order should be implemented in a week’s time and the order should also be circulated to all the states and Union Territories across the country. On the other hand, Centre has agreed to obey the direction of the top-most court and ordered to chief secretaries of all states to publish it on electronic and print media.

Supreme Court directed not to dramatise or exploit it commercially. The court added that any edited version of the national anthem can’t be played in any form for any purpose, especially in commercial ads. The Apex court also ordered that national anthem should not be printed or displayed on unwanted objects. The petition was filed by Shyam Narayan Chouski, who runs an NGO in Bhopal.
