Jagadish Chandra Bose was a man with a noble heart and who believed in equality and humanity. Along with google, everyone is celebrating his 158 birthday today. He was the scientist who demonstrated first the science behind capturing the radio waves.
With a special doodle, Google is celebrating his birthday. Mr Bose was born on 30th November 1858 in British India’s Bengal Presidency. At the age of 78, he died on 23rd November 1937.

- Bose invented the Mercury coherer, a radio wave receiver that was used by Marconi to develop functioning two-way radio. Bose is known as the father of wireless telecommunication.
- The science behind capturing radio waves was first demonstrated by Mr Bose.
- He sent an electromagnetic wave across 75 feet, passing through walls to ring a bell and to explode some gunpowder. This incident took place in Calcutta, which is now Kolkatta at Town hall in November 1895.
- He had the patent since he discovered that plants too are living beings and they also go through the cycle process like animals.
- He conducted many chemical experiments to prove that plants can also feel pain and anger like us.
- He invented Crescograph, a device to understand the different stimuli in the plants
- Being a colonised Indian, Mr Bose was stopped to experiments in the laboratories and he had to function experiments in a small room which was next to impossible for any scientist
- By the order of Lord Ripon, Mr Bose was appointed as a Professor in presidency college, which is now known as a University.
- He was the most influential teacher during his tenure.
- A small crater on the moon has given a name after Jagdish Chandra Bose.
