23 June 2016: FIR against AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya from Sangam Vihar has been lodged by a woman with the police stating of misbehaviour by Dinesh Mohaniya in his office after the group of women went to complain regarding the irregularity water supply related issues.
The case has been registered at the Neb Sarai Police station under the section 506 for criminal intimidation, section 509 for word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman and section 323 punishments for voluntarily causing hurt of the Indian Penal Code.
The agitated woman said that “I go to Dinesh Mohaniya’s office every day but this time when I went he refused to identify me.” She also said that ‘He pushed me and also other woman and hurled abuses at us. We want to file a case Mohaniya and he should be arrested.’
The woman went to the Neb Sarai Police station to lodge a complaint against the MLA and the outraged woman said in the statement that, “When he abused and pushed us, we also did the same. Are we here to be beaten up? We are facing severe water issue here.”
However, the MLA Dinesh Mohaniya denies that the ‘charges against me are baseless and attempts are made to defame me’.
He said that the woman was coming to his office for the last three-four days regarding the access of water and completely denies that the charges against him saying that the complaint made by the woman are incorrect.
Dinesh Mohaniya has been appointed as the Vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board by the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
The FIR against Mohaniya has left the Kejriwal government shocking as the government is already facing the charges of flouting constitutional norms by appointing 12 parliamentary secretaries, as per the reports.
