OHAMA, Nebraska – Olympics 2016 is in August and countries have started preparing their teams for the game. First in the lot is the US as it began its trails for men’s and women’s swimming teams for the 2016 Rio games in Omaha, Nebraska, this Sunday.
The trails were set for the both men and women Olympic teams for 400-meter individual medleys and men’s 400-meter freestyle swimming category. Semifinals for the 100-meter breaststroke men and 100-meter butterfly women also took place and the top two winners from both teams were finalised for Olympic Games.

At the first place in Men’s 400m IM were Chase Kalisz, Men’s 400m Free was Connor Jaeger and Women’s 400m IM was Maya DiRado. At second place for the category as mentioned above were Jay Litherland, Conor Dwyer, and
Elizabeth Beisel. At the third place for the same were Ryan Lochte, Townley Haas, and Bethany Galat.
Complete results and schedule matches of the remaining trail games are officially listed on the US Swimming Website. US Olympic trials are held from 26th June to 3rd of July 2016.
18-time gold medalist, Michael Phelps was not present at the trails but is expected to participate in upcoming five events of his closing Olympic Trial competition. US Swimming officially applauded Kalisz on securing his place in Team USA and becoming the first-time Olympian.
Veteran Elizabeth Beisel will join Maya DiRado who is making her first trip to Olympics as the winner of women’s 400-meter individual medley. Elizabeth Beisel is going to make her third appearance in the Olympic Games.
According to the Associated Press’ Beth Harris, DiRado is making her last attempt for the Olympics, and it will be interesting to watch her during the Rio games.
