Arnab Goswami, the former editor-in-chief of Times Now finally announced his new venture which would be called Republic. His announcement comes a month after Goswami had resigned from the Channel on November 1.
At the same time, Rahul Shivshankar has taken over as the editor-in-chief of the news channel. While interviewing to The News Minute, Goswami said, “My venture is called ‘Republic’; I seek the support of the people of India.”
New business will be announced after a few weeks
He further said that more information about his new business will be exposed after a few weeks. However, reports indicate that the channel will start airing before the vital Uttar Pradesh elections in the first quarter of 2017.
The news emerged out that the Goswami’s new company will be based out of Mumbai, TNM reported that ‘a media owner based out of Bengaluru, a major TV distribution network and an influential advertising and media buying group, are a part of the bouquet of investors who are coming together to back Arnab.’

Arnab got fame to his daily prime time debate show “The News Hour” that brought a major chunk of revenue for the news channel. He also took detailed interviews with several famous personalities from the walks of life and the show was called “Franky Speaking with Arnab Goswami.”
While addressing to his employees in his farewell speeches at Times Now, Arnab has insisted that he would head an independent media venture. The venture is likely to initiate with a digital footprint but a channel will be launched before the UP elections scheduled to be held in 2017.
