Salman Khan blackbucks Poaching Case: The renowned Bollywood actor Salman Khan was freed of all charges in the Arms act case against him in the alleged illegal hunting of two black bucks. He was accused of using firearms with an expired license in the hunting of the black bucks near Jodhpur in October 1998.
“Salman Khan (has been) acquitted in the Arms Act case after the prosecution failed to provide conclusive evidence,” the film star’s lawyer said, ANI reported.
Salman Khan blackbucks Poaching Case: A case was registered against Salman for poaching two blackbucks
A case against Salman Khan was registered in October 1998 under the Arms Act for his alleged use and possession of arms with an expired license during the alleged poaching of two blackbucks in Kankani village.
Cases against him were filed under sections 3/25 and3/27 for using 0.22 rifle and 0.32 revolver with an expired license. Usually, under sections 3/25 three years of imprisonment while section 3/27 has seven years as the maximum sentence.
The verdict of freeing Salman was pronounced by the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate. The Super Star arrived in Jodhpur yesterday accompanied by his sister Alvira and his advocates.
Salman has acquitted in two cases of poaching by high court
As per the prosecution counsel Bhawani Singh Bhati, on January 9 the arguments in the case were completed in the trial court and the magistrate reserved the order to be pronounced today.
During arguments, while the defence had argued that there was evidence against Salman in the case and he was framed by the forest department. The prosecution further argued that there were sufficient proofs against him for poaching blackbucks with the expired license’s arms. Khan has already been acquitted in two cases of poaching by the high court and the last one is in the final stage.
