Bollywood actress Preity Zinta’s Cousin Nitin Chauhan committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol in Shimla. He took his life just before a hearing for marital dispute. Police have found a suicide note from him in which he blamed his wife and in-laws.
Chauhan shot himself with a pistol in a vehicle of the registration number HP 512089 near sector 2 in new Shimla. No one witnessed the suicide or heard any sounds of the shoot but the incident was reported when his family member saw blood near the car. Police recovered two suicide notes of four pages each, one from the car and another one from home.
He accused his in-laws for harassing him
“The victim and his wife had separated two years ago. The case regarding legal separation was pending in the court. The hearing of the case was on Friday,” a senior police official said as quoted by HT.
Deceased accused in suicide note in-laws of harassing him by filing fake cases and of preventing him from meeting his son. According to the reports, Chauhan’s mother told police that he was at home last night until she went to his room around midnight to found him missing. She thought, he had gone for a drive but when they came out of a home in the morning saw his vehicle parked and blood near the car.
Police has registered a case against culprits
The police have filed the abetment case against Nitin’s in–laws on the basis of suicide notes and police have initiated a probe.“We have not interrogated anyone but registered a case against those mentioned in the suicide note,” a Shimla police officer said.
Police said the weapon it has found from him used for committing suicide is not of the victim. Police has sent the weapon for forensic examination. His family member revealed during police investigation that he never possessed any weapon. Police has also sent his phone forensic investigation to dig out details and other information.
