Just a few days after Elon Musk‘s controversial takeover, actress Amber Heard appears to have deleted her Twitter account.
According to metro.co.uk, he completed his $44 billion acquisition of the social media platform last week and promptly announced a number of changes.
A number of well-known people, including Shonda Rhimes and Mick Foley, announced their plans to leave the platform following the move. The absence of Heard’s posts under the handle @realamberheard on the microblogging platform has sparked speculation that she has followed in her footsteps.
On her previous page, however, a message reads: “This account doesn’t exist. Try searching for another”.
The account went down earlier today, according to reports, but the reason for this has not been made clear.
After losing her highly publicized court battle against Johnny Depp, Amber has taken a step back from the spotlight and has not spoken publicly about the changes to her account.
Although her Instagram is visible at the moment, it has not been updated since June 1. Before he started dating musician Grimes, the actress was in a relationship with the billionaire businessman for about a year.
The closing of Musk’s takeover of Twitter last week prompted him to declare himself “chief Twit.” Since his arrival, he has proposed numerous modifications to the social media platform, including a highly criticized subscription service for verified users. He is now the only board member.
“Twitter’s current lords & peasants system for who has or doesn’t have a blue checkmark is bulls**t. Power to the people! Blue for $8/month,” he tweeted.
