A shocking news revealed by an Australian radio broadcaster that a large amount of imported food brands are actually unsafe for consumption.
The Australian-based SBS Punjabi news exposed that a large amount of metals, carcinogenic insecticide and arsenic have been found in most of the top brand’s products of India that were being imported to the country.
More than limit insecticides found in imported food brands
According to SBS Punjabi Radio, the journalists purchased 18 products of different brands at the Indian specialty stores across greater Melbourne which were sent to a food testing lab accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities, National Measurement Institute.
When they got reports of these products which they bought, several startling violation found in the report of NMI. It was also found that Kohinoor Basmati rice allegedly contained banned insecticide Buprofezin and famous spice brand MDH consisted of Pesticides above the permissible limit in Australia.
Ceralac, Complan, Indus Basmati and Verka Ghee unsafe for consuption!
The investigation also showed that four other products named Ceralac, Complan, Indus Basmati, and Verka Ghee were unsafe for consumption because they have a high quantity of copper, lead and insecticide residue found by experts. Some of the main reasons behind the alleged violations were misleading labelling and multiple regulatory standards in India.
