Just after the launch of Rs 2000 notes by the government, several complaints have recently been surfaced about the fake notes of Rs 2000 denomination. A vegetable Vendor in Karnataka was tricked with a photocopy of RS 2000note. And, another incident came to light from Telangana where a man used coloured photocopy of Rs 2000 note to buy liquor. People need to be aware of the features of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes.

There are several ways in which the users can identify the authenticity of Rs 2000 note. For example, the seven “bleeds lines” on the side of the Rs 2,000 note, and five lines on Rs 500 note are in raised printing or intaglio and also the security thread in both side of the notes changes colour from green to blue at different angles.
While the colour of RS 2000note is magenta, the RS 500 note is in stone gray. The RS 2,000 note is part of the Mahatma Gandhi New series with a design of Mars orbiter Mangalyaan on the reverse. The size of the note is 66mm x 16mm
