Naresh Tewani of Jodhpur finally got married with Karachi girl Priya Bachchani on Monday after one month of uncertainty. All credit goes to Minister of External Affairs (MEA), Sushma Swaraj who came forward for making them one. With the intervention of MEA Sushma, the Indian Embassy in Pakistan granted visas to the bride and her family members for the wedding function. Naresh and Priya have been engaged over the past three years.
Delaying in granting visa led to uncertainty, says bride family
They had scheduled their wedding for November 7. However, the delays by the Indian Embassy in Pakistan in granting the visas to bride and family had led to uncertainty of the function.
Meanwhile, ahead of their marriage, Naresh tweeted the issue to MEA Sushma Swaraj asking her to intervene and arrange for 35 visas for the bride and her family. Naresh said,” We are thankful for the quick response of the minister. All the 35 members got their visa to come to Jodhpur, though, in two parts.”
Both families thanked MEA Sushma Swaraj
Priya Bachchani along with her family members finally reached Jodhpur on Sunday and got busy in several ceremonies ahead of the wedding schedule for Monday, “I am very happy that everything has gone on as planned and we are enjoying the ceremonies here.” said Priya.
We started preparations accordingly, right from arranging accommodation for them to sending invitation cards. But when there was a delay in issuing visas, we stopped preparations and focused entirely on getting the same issued by the India Embassy in Pakistan, the father of the groom Kanhaiya Lal Tewani said.
