Sixth Day of Navratri: On the sixth day of Navratri, Goddess Katyayani is worshipped by the devotees for great blessings from this form of Goddess Durga. Goddess Parvati took this form of Navdurga to kill the demon Mahishasura. It is said to be the most violent form of the Goddess and in this form, followers often regard her as the Warrior Goddess.
Goddess Katyayani is associated with the red colour. People prefer to wear red colour clothes on this day. The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to worship Maa Katyayani and to get her blessings. People keep fast and worship the idols of Goddess with aromatic substances. It is generally believed that this manifestation of Goddess Shakti governs planet Brihaspati.

Sixth Day of Navratri Dedicated to Maa Katyayani
The sixth day of Navratri is dedicated to the Goddess Katyayani. She is generally the most violent form of Navdurga. She rides a lion and is depicted with four hands. In her left hands, she holds a lotus flower and a sword and her right hands are in the Abhaya and Varada Mudras to bless her devotees. Red rose flowers are Goddess’ favorite.
Worship Goddess Katyayani to get the Husband of your Choice
According to the legends of Bhagavata Purana, the Gopis or the young marriageable daughters of the cowherd men of Gokula in Braja and kept fasts for an entire month to get Lord Krishna as their husband. They would worship idols of Goddess Katyayani with betel nuts, fragrant garlands, fruits, sandalwood pulp, lamps, newly grown leaves, and incense at the riverbanks and pray to her.
People believe that if young girls make vow of fasting, the Goddess will bless you with the husband of your choice. It is best to pray to Maa Katyayani if you wish to marry a man of your choice.
