Dhanteras 2022 Puja Celebrations: The first day of the Diwali celebrations is celebrated as the Dhanteras and is also known as the ‘Dhanatrayodashi’ or ‘Dhanvantari Trayodashi’ in many parts of India and Nepal. The day is dedicated to the originator of Ayurveda and the teacher of all physicians, Dhanvantari. People generally buy gold, silver, or some utensils on the occasion of Dhanteras.

It falls on the thirteenth lunar day of Krishna Paksha in the month of Ashwin. On this day, people believe that Goddess Lakshmi showers her blessings on her devotees. Significance of Dhanteras: First Day of Diwali
According to the mythology, it is believed that during the churning of the sea, Goddess Lakshmi came out from the ocean of milk on the occasion of Dhantrayodashi. It is said that Goddess Lakshmi visits the homes of her devotees and showers her blessings on them. Along with her, Lord Ganesha and Lord Kuber are also worshipped.
Lord of all Gods, Lord Dhanwantri was born on this day and it is the reason people purchase gold and silver coins with Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha pictures on them.

The best Dhanteras 2022 Puja Muhurat is believed to be during the Pradosh Kaal. It begins after sunset and lasts for around 2 hours and 24 minutes. The Choghadiya Muhurat is believed to be auspicious only for traveling and not for performing the Dhanteras Puja. The Sthir Lagna prevails during the Pradosh Kaal during which the Lakshmi Puja is done.
Diwali overlaps with the Pradosh Kaal. People believe that if they will perform pooja during this time, Maa Lakshmi stays in their house.
