Diwali Celebrations in London: Diwali is round the corner and its preparations are going on with great pomp and show. And for London, the celebrations of already begun. London Mayor Sadiq Khan commenced the Diwali Celebrations in London by lightening the lamp at the Trafalgar Square where a huge number of Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains from across London gathered to witness the auspicious occasion.
The Mayor said, “London is open to all people and all communities – we don’t just tolerate each other’s’ differences, we embrace them. Nowhere is this more apparent than in London’s joyous celebration of Diwali in Trafalgar Square.”
He even remembered the Indian freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi and also referred to Brexit. He said, “Every day Londoners live the teachings of Gandhi; in business, medicine, entertainment…”
Indian Culture seen in Diwali Celebrations in London
A large number of Indian cultural events were organised for marking the wonderful celebrations of the occasion. There was dancing, Indian street food stalls, meditation sessions and garba band that entertained the people. All looked happy and cheerful.
During the celebrations, Khan even said that he had been practising the Bollywood dance for the occasion. He even said that Goddess Lakshmi would help Great Britain’s economy to a great extent.
Grand Diwali Celebrations in London
The Diwali Celebrations in London this year are going to be grand and awesome like every other year. The are going to be a lot of Diwali bashes all around London. The Diwali Dhamaka will take place on October 29, from 6pm onwards at the RCT Hall (Raghuvanshi), RCT Sports Ground, Headstone Lane, Harrow.
The dinner would be organised for the people along with some interesting games, dances, karaoke and fireworks. Diwali darshan and pooja would be hosted by BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Neasden on 30th October.
A cultural show and fireworks display would also be organised by the Bhaktivedanta Manor as a part of Diwali Celebrations in London. Along with this, prasad will also be served to the people. Looks like the celebrations are going to br really amazing in London.
