Fifth Day of Navratri: Goddess Skanda Mata is worshipped on the fifth day of Navratri. All the traditions and rituals are followed entirely to worship the Goddess Skandamata. She is the fifth form of Goddess Durga and is often referred to as the Goddess of Fire by her followers. She is the mother of Kartikeya who is also called Skanda. Her devotees are blessed with power, prosperity and wisdom.

The Goddess rides a lion and has got four arms. She carries two lotus flowers in her upper hands. With her one hand, she holds the baby Kartikeya and blesses her devotees with her one hand. She also generally sits on a lotus flower and hence, is also called the Goddess Padmasana.

Navratri Day 5 Dedicated to Goddess Skandamata
It is a very common ritual to worship Goddess Skandamata on the fifth day of Navratri who is also the fifth incarnation of Goddess Shakti. People believe that she showers her devotees with treasures, prosperity and power. She can also make an illiterate person, full of wisdom. Worshiping her is said to purify the hearts of her devotees.
Her devotees need to have a controlled mind and senses. They should worship her with single-devotion and leave every worldly bondage. Her devotees are awarded with great salvation and power.
Maa Skandamata: Goddess of Power and Prosperity
When a devotee worship her, the little Skanda or Kartikeya is automatically worshiped and his blessings are also showered on the devotees. Commonly, people wear grey colour on this day. Grey colour is said to balance to mind. If a devotee worships her wholeheartedly, they are showered with great blessings from the Goddess in the form of wisdom, power, treasures and prosperity.
