San Luis Potosi, Mexico 5 April: Ford will invest $1.6 billion in building a new plant in san Luis Potosi, Mexico today. Ford will also manufacture small car by 2018. It will make itself the latest automaker in Mexico. This summer ford will start construction of new plant. The company hope they will produce cars by 2018. By 2020, ford will create a job for people in Mexico like 2,800.
UAW president Dennis Williams said that in every investment in Mexico is made to provide jobs that could have been available here in the USA. Leading republican candidate Donal Trump is pressuring ford to drop its plan for expanding their new plant in Mexico.
Ford said today that though it is expanding in Mexico it remain creating job in America. Joe Hinrichs the vice president of ford said that as it is a global company and competing globally we need to expand our company globally. Ford vice president and American president have a talk, but we can clearly see the ford company is investing more in the USA. Joseph Hinrichs president of ford America said that they have hired 25,000 workers in the past five years.
Trump said he would have stop ford from expanding in Mexico if he is elected as president, and also said that the company by itself have to call me and say that we are not building our plant in Mexico.
Ford CEO Mark Fields said the company is investing in the USA in making cars as automaker more than in any other country but also will not stop in building the new plant in Mexico as this is a global company.
