Days after the lavish wedding of the former BJP member Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter, a raid was conducted at his office by the Income Tax department. A team of ten members from the department conducted a raid on the mining company owned by Gali Janardhan Reddy.
I-T Department raided the mining company of Gali Janardhan Reddy
The team split up in two and inquired into the sources of income of the mining baron at the Obulapuram Mining company and Associate mining company, both owned by Janardhan Reddy. The former BJP member was unavailable at the time of the raid.
It is being said that the inquiry was initiated after a complaint was registered by Narasimhamurthy seeking an answer to the grand wedding hosted by Reddy despite his assets being seized and especially when the masses were going through a financial crunch after the demonetization. Further, as per the complaint, the sources of income for Janardhan Reddy with which he organized the wedding are also allegedly illegal.
As on November 10, Gali Janardhan Reddy had told the media that he will be giving an account of his total expenditure and the source of his income to the income tax department after the wedding, however, he had refused to share the data with the media.
Reddy was out on a bail from November 1 to 21 staying in Ballari, accused in the case of illegal mining.
