The income tax officials have conducted raids at the residence and hotels of the former chairman of Madhya Pradesh Rajya Sahakari Awas Sangh and BJP leader Sushil Vaswani situated in Bairagarh in Bhopal.
Sushil Vaswani was also the chairman of Mahanagar Cooperative Bank for more than 10 years and his wife is still the chairman of the bank consisting of several influential people as directors.

I-T officials had received information that Vaswani allegedly laundered money after the announcement of demonetization by PM Modi. And he has owned three hotels in the city.
Retaining the minister of state for five years, he was also the chairman of housing cooperative federation. Income Tax department carried out the raids early in the morning. At the same time, the leader claimed that no illegal money was found from his house by the sleuths
Recently, the Tamil Nadu Police arrested BJP’s youth wing secretary from Salem, JVR Arun with wads of new currency notes worth Rs 20.55 lakh. As per the party, Arun was removed from the organizational responsibilities after his arrest. In another incident, former BJP leader Manish Sharma from West Bengal was also caught with Rs 33 Lakh in Rs 2,000 notes.
