According to Goan Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, the event’s golden jubilee edition will be held in a newly constructed convention center with a seating capacity of 5000 to 6000 people. The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) owns the property where it is currently held.
The International Film Festival of India has transformed from a non-competitive festival that featured fewer than 150 films from 23 nations to a competitive one that has received an “A” rating from the Federation Internationale des Producteurs de Films, which is based in Paris. This gives the IFFI the eminence to be referenced simultaneously as widely acclaimed celebrations, for example, the Cannes and Berlin Film Celebrations.
In India it is going to be held in Goa with the following possible locations:
- Inox Goa
- Old GMC Palace
- Maquinez Palace Theater
- Kala Academy
- Azad Maidan
- Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium, Head Office SAG
In 2018, the 49th IFFI featured a total of 17 categories, one of which was the International Competition, which selected the world’s best feature-length fiction films. The Centenary Award for the Best Debut Feature Film of a Director honors debutants in the field of filmmaking and provides them with a platform on which to show off their remarkable abilities. Non-competitive categories include the World Panorama, which features feature-length films by well-known filmmakers from all over the world.
The Sketch on Screen section gives a platform to four or five feature-length films of international animation with Indian collaborators. The State Focus and Indian Panorama sections not only serve to celebrate the nation’s rich diversity but also ensure that local and domestic films are given the recognition they deserve.
The official website of the International Film Festival of India offers a comprehensive list of guesthouses and lodges for all budgets that film enthusiasts from all over the world can stay at during the festival.
