Disney who is known as the king of the entertainment world owns almost more than half of the entertainment realm which consists of Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm. All the hit production companies come under one banner i.e. Disney. The latest rumor which is infecting the entertainment sphere is Disney looking to buy Netflix which is one of the most profitable and popular streaming service.
New Reports on deal
The new report from TechCrunch suggests that Disney is looking to buy Netflix. This rumor came after AT&T announced that they will be taking over Time Warner. Netflix is the king of all the streaming services like Hulu, Amazon and HBO Go. Writer Peter Casthy argued that Netflix cannot match the way AT&T works. Moreover, Disney is facing the losses due to massive decline in ESPN subscriptions.
CEO of acquisitions
Disney CEO Bob Iger may retire as the CEO of Disney in 2018 and he wants the deals to be done. So if Disney looking to buy Netflix rumors are true than it will be another big deal between the two moguls of entertainment.
Colleagues for Entertainment
Netflix and Disney are already in bed together with the Marvel’s series like The Defenders, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and etcetera. Apart from that, they will come together into animated films with Zootopia. Additionally, Netflix has its own way of working; it wants to make its entry into Oscars by producing movies for which they sealed the deal with iPic Entertainment theater chain. Netflix wants to bring some of its movies to theaters. The streaming service is also looking to increase the amount of its content by 50 percent.
But if the rumors about Disney looking to buy Netflix are true then all the plans which Netflix is preparing can go down the stream. The entire shows of Disney and Disney XD will end up on Netflix and Disney will become a library of entertainment.
If the rumor about Disney looking to buy Netflix got the wings, then there will be no other player which could beat the monster of entertainment.
