Grammy Award winner and crossover icon Jody Miller died at 80 on Thursday 6, 2022.
Robin Brooks daughter of Jody Miller stated ‘Please remember the family as they deal with this great loss.
Jody died in her hometown Blanchard, Oklahoma suffering from the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease for the past few years.

Jody was the first-ever country music artist from Oklahoma to win a Grammy award and the second woman to receive the award for best country performance female.
“Queen of the House” song in 1965 was a Grammy-winning hit. Jody made her place in the music industry after first signing with Capitol Records as a folk artist in 1962.
She was a well-known artist with a long-lasting career. She gave one-after-one hit songs like “Home of the Brave” and “Long Black Limousine.”
When she signed with Epic Records it was the time she rose to fame in the 1970s.
She entered the music studio for the last time in 2020 for an upcoming project named as ‘Wayfaring Stranger, on Heart of Texas Records.
Her longtime representative Jennifer McMullen said, confirming her death, that Miller’s “talent cannot be overstated.”
She also stated, ‘ She had this innate, God-given ability to interpret and communicate with the most beautiful tones and inflection’
Jennifer McMullen also added, ‘She made it look and sound so easy that it sometimes takes a moment to realize the greatness of what you are hearing. But she was just as authentic and exceptional in her own life as she was on stage and on record.’

Myrna Joy Miller professionally known as Jody Miller was born on November 29, 1941. She was an American country music singer who was born and brought up in Blanchard, Oklahoma.
She has five sisters and were the youngest among all.
Jody was married to Monty Brooks and they have a daughter named Robin Brooks. Jody and her daughter Robin brooks recorded and toured together for a period of time.
In her ’80s, Miller retired from touring so that she can spend time at home with her daughter Robin and husband Monty Brooks.
Jody Miller was suffering from Parkinson’s Disease for the past seven years.
