Jaguar-Land Rover(owned by Tata Motors) on Tuesday, launched the new 2017 models range of its popular SUV – the Range Rover Evoque. The prices for the SUV start at ₹ 49.10 lakh going up to ₹ 67.90 lakh for the top-of-the-line variant (all ex-showroom, Delhi). It is important to inform that the price of the car has been revised by the company.
Talking about the changes in the 2017 model year Range Rover Evoque, the biggest change is the introduction of the Ingenium Diesel engine. This makes it the first Land Rover SUV in the country to be powered by a motor from JLR’s new engine family.
The new 2017 Land Rover Ranger Rover will only come in one engine option for now, which is the new 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel motor. This is also the USP of the new Range Rover Car because the Ingenium is Jaguar Land Rover’s new breed of engines and the company claims that it has been designed for effortless performance, refinement and efficiency.

Engine and Power
The new engine is 20 kg lighter than equivalent previous generation engines, thus making it quite an efficient motor. The new 1999cc oil burner churns out 177bhp and develops 430Nm of peak torque. JLR has mated to motor to a 9-speed automatic transmission and equipped it with a 4-wheel-drive system as well.
Design and Looks
The 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque largely remains unchanged and continues to offer the bold exterior styling along with the comfortable and luxurious interior. On the outside, the new Range Rover Evoque gets the striking lines, muscular shoulder and tapered roof with the adaptive full LED headlights that enhanced light output for better visibility and safety at night. The SUV also gets distinctive LED daytime running lights.
Cabin Design and Space
The cabin retains the comfortable environment of a Range Rover SUV with superb detailing, strong lines and clean surfaces combined seamlessly with contemporary finishes. Details include the use of premium materials such as Oxford leather, twin-needle stitching and deeply padded door inserts. Oxford leather seats come as standard on HSE and HSE Dynamic models.
Infotainment Features
The new 2017 Range Rover Evoque features the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system that optimises in-car connectivity by providing faster responses and a more intuitive operation for users. Depending on the variant you either get the option of an 8-inch display or a larger 10-inch display.
