The opposition parties have called for a nationwide protest today on Monday against demonetization move of the government. Only Left Front that has a presence in Kerala, Bengal and Tripura has called the Bharat Bandh in these states. On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi yesterday slammed the opposition for its all-India shutdown call over demonetization saying that country instead needed to eliminate the evil like black money and corruption from its roots.

During Parivarthan Rally in Kasya assembly segment of Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh, PM Modi said addressing the gathering “on the one hand  we are initiating steps to control corruption, but on the other hand a few people are talking about Bharat Bandh”. He explained demonetization as a cure to the 70-years old illness of corruption.
