#BoycottMyntra has been trending on Twitter in India this morning. But Myntra is not at fault for what they have been facing allegations. Myntra is facing rampage from the twitter users over an offensive Lord Krishna advertisement. Many religious Hindus have been hurt because of the ad as it shows Myntra’s logo in it just like we see on the internet. But interestingly, Myntra has nothing to do with the ad.
In the advertisement, there is an animated scene of Draupadi’s cheer-haran from Mahabharata in which Kauravas’ eldest brother Duryodhan is disrobing Pandavas’ wife Draupadi in their court. Lord Krishna is also seen in the ad looking for ‘extra long sarees’ on Myntra.
After seeing the ad, a twitter user posted the graphic and asked Myntra for an explanation. The post got viral in no time and twitter users got angry and started asking everybody to boycott Myntra. Myntra was accused of disrespecting and insulting Hindu god and making fun of the sentiments of Hindus.
Myntra cleared that it did not create the artwork
After Myntra came to know about being boycotted, it soon released a statement of twitter telling that it had nothing to do with the advertisement.
We did not create this artwork nor do we endorse this. https://t.co/EWyWUEsky5

The fact is that ScrollDroll, a content-creating website created the graphic ad and also took up the responsibility of its deed and clarified that Myntra was not the culprit directly or indirectly. ScrollDroll also told that it was created by them in February, but was taken removed immediately with the thought of hurting religious sentiments.
It tweeted, “This poster was created by us in Feb. We removed it immediately as we never intended to hurt sentiments. We take up the responsibility of this artwork. Myntra is nowhere associated with it directly or indirectly.”
