Anna University Chennai College of Engineering semester exams postponed that were scheduled to begin from December 1st due to the unfavourable weather conditions. The regional director of the meteorological department has announced that intense rainfalls will lash Chennai and there is a possibility that cyclone may strike on December 2. He has also said,” The depression over the bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm and the cyclone has been named as NADA. It will gradually lose its strength and move towards Vedaranyam, 830 km south-east of Chennai, 780 km south-east of Puducherry, 490 km south-east of Trincomalee, in Sri Lanka, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore and Nagapattinam “
Heavy rain forecast in Tamilnadu, semester exams postponed
As a safety measure, the School education department director has announced the closure of all the schools and University On 1st and 2nd December. The exams that were to be held in the starting days of December will now start from 24th December.
Anna University posted a notification on the official website,” Due to the heavy rain forecast in Tamilnadu, the end semester ( Nov-Dec) examinations, of all Anna University affiliated colleges scheduled to be held on 1st December has been postponed to 24th December.”
Anna University has cancelled/postponed examinations several times so far. In 2015, Tamilnadu was facing some unrelenting stormy weather conditions due to which universities postponed examinations and declared holidays for several days.
