The CEO of the leading beverage brand, PepsiCo, Indira Nooyi was interviewed by Andrew Ross Sorkin from The New York Times last Thursday. Indira Nooyi talked about various important issues ranging from the taxes on Soda products to what she learned from Steve Jobs prior his death.
After Indira Nooyi’s Anti-Trump remarks, PepsiCo products to be boycotted
While at the interview, Nooyi said something that the Trump Supporters didn’t take lightly and in response started a cause to boycott products from her brand.
Indira Nooyi had said that her employees are very worried after the newly elected US President Donald Trump has come to power. She said to Sorkin jokingly, “Do you have any tissues?” On a serious note, she said, “The election is over. I think we should mourn, for those of us who supported the other side. But we have to come together and life has to go on.”
I think that the first thing that we all have to do is to assure everybody in the United States that they are safe. Nothing has changed because of this election. What we heard was election talk. And we will all come together and unify the country. So the process of democracy happened. We just have to let life go on.

She also objected Trump’s use of foul language for women. Trump supporters have since been reacting outrageously and have decided to boycott Pepsi for the Anti-Trump remarks of Nooyi. #BoycottPepsi has been trending on twitter.
