The actress further said that she was astonished on the fact that in the society that we live in, the male counterparts are surprisingly paid more remunerations for the same work that the women do.
Quoting examples from her very own professional area, the Indian film industry she said that if a star like Aamir or Salman is casted in the movie, it easily crosses Rs 300 crore collections. However, even if the movie with a female lead has a good story, it just can’t make that much money since audiences don’t prefer watching it.
Priyanka has recently opened her own production house named Purple Pebble Pictures and its debut movie Ventilator has already been released.
“I wanted to create a production house that not just encouraged new talent but also gives attention to storytelling…Hence my choice of doing regional films like Bhojpuri and Marathi. A Punjabi film is also on the floors right now. I select the scripts in my company. If my name is on it, I want myself to be on board with it creatively”, said Priyanka.
