Those of you, who love pasta, will want to know one thing, keeping eating more of them along with food items like fish and greens. However, the same cannot be said about noodles, which contains ingredients that can give you high BMI.
The history of pasta can be argued and debated because there is no specific or particular data available which tells you that pasta was made in Italy or in the Greeks. Origin of noodle was in China and was brought to Europe in the 13th century by Marco Polo. You will be surprised to know that pasta is a product that is cooked using several grains and cereals together, which are then mixed with water.
It comes as no surprise that people in the United States of America are proud of their noodles because they feel that it belongs there, and not the same with pasta. They feel that pasta is consumed in Mediterranean area and is empty calories without any nutritional benefits.
You will want to know that a cup of ordinary pasta can give your body a protein of approximately 6 grams, potassium and calcium in small amounts. Wheat pasta gives you B vitamins, iron, and more than 25% of daily requirements of folic acid and fiber content.
Dr. Licia Iacoviello found that pasta couldn’t cause health ailments, unlike noodles.
According to the research team, “Both in women and men, the obese population was older and at lower socioeconomic status, had higher waist and hip circumferences and waist-to-hip ratio, and consumed more pasta (grams per day) than normal or overweight participants.”
You will want to note that the research was based on the food ingredients and quantities taken. You need to make sure that the quantity consumed is not very high. Food items like greens and dish are always a boon for any dish and make for a very healthy food preparation.
As you can see, there is no need to panic if you are a pasta lover. Just go ahead and dig in to your favorite dish and don’t feel guilty about it as there is nothing to worry.
