Brady’ last 5 minute gave Ireland a glorious victory in the history of Euro Cup. He claimed his first goal of the game taking the Republic of Ireland to a dramatic 1-0 win against Italy this Wednesday.
With this win, Ireland had reached the knockout games of Euro Cup 2016.

Robbie Brady goal came in a crucial time when the match was slipping from the hands of Ireland as the team struggled against Italy goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu and Ovidiu Hategan’s combination. The team needed to win the game to mark their place into Final 16 as Team Italy has already made their way to final knockouts of Group E with a remarkable win against France.
Before Brady hit the goalpost, Sirigu made an amazing save to Daryl Murphy with Hategan already dismissing Irish penalty appeals twice in the first half.
Irish Game Plan
Prior this important match, Coach Martin O’Neill had made four changes to the team replacing one that lost 3-0 against Belgium in Bordeaux last weekend. This is the first win that Ireland made over Italy since US World Cup in 1994.
Italian coach Antonio Conte made eight changes eyeing the Final 16 tie against Spain happening next Monday. Italy had already secured their place in Final 16 knockout games.
Lack of rhythm and coordination cost Italian B team the match while Irish team was all pumped up with a broad support behind them.
Despite losing their two penalty calls in the first half, Ireland took away the game and proved that they were the better side during the match.
