With newer and better versions of applications popping up, haven’t our lives become easier and much entertaining to live? But the same process gives the applications of similar kinds a major competition. Everyone is trying to get better and hold a greater share of users in the market. This brings us to the latest feud between Apple and Spotify.
In their latest dialogue, Spotify claims that Apple is making it harder for it to compete by not allowing a newer version of the app for iPhone. Spotify as we know is the music streaming app that the world rigorously uses.
Spotify’s general counsel, Horacio Gutierrez, in fact sent a letter to Apple’s lawyer, saying that this act of Apple is causing harm to not only Spotify but also its customers and that Apple should pass the update. The letter also says that Apple is demanding Spotify to use Apple’s billing system.
Spotify sent a few copies of the same letter to Congressional staff in Washington, resulting which Elizabeth Warren showed herself not being so pleased about Apple’s practices.
This is not the first time, this feud between Apple and Spotify has surfaced. For that matter, Spotify has been trying to make a noise about Apple’s subscription policies that are very anti-competitive in nature, for all the third party music services.
Apple does not permit an alternate payment system within the app, like Google does.AT the same time it charges a monthly fee up to 30% for anybody who uses their billing system. We just hope apple accepts all the competition with a good heart.
