CW’s Supergirl proves that it is one of the best TV shows of DC Entertainment. When season 1 ended it raised high stakes of fans for season 2. When Supergirl took its first flight on CW, we encountered her mother’s sister and her husband. Supergirl season 2 started with Mon-El landing on earth in a Krypton pod (as we saw in Supergirl season 2 premiere). The new villain who will feature in Supergirl season 2 is Lena Luthor’s mom, Lillian Luthor.
Mon-El: The new hero
Things are becoming cheesy in National City as the President has already announced that all the aliens who are currently living as a refugee in the country will be becoming the regular citizens. Then we saw Cadmus into action, trying to kill the president only in a failed attempt as Supergirl and her cousin brother (Superman) saved the day.
Lillian Luthor: The next bad-ass
The twist in Supergirl season 2 came when at the end of episode 5 we came to know that the Cadmus leader was none other than Superman’s biggest rival Lex Luthor matriarch Lillian Luthor. Lillian seems to be a sinister character in the series and DC brought Lena, Lex and Lillian on same page. We don’t know about Lex (as he is in prison) but Lillian (Brenda Strong, she played main character in Desperate Housewives) seems to be a perfect fit as villain for the Supergirl and her team.
CW is doing a fabulous job by bringing the female villains who are less into tight costumes and more into the character as more the baddie, more will be the entertainment. While Lillian has been shown a cruel dangerous villain, it would be interesting to see when Lena Luthor is going to show her true colors.
Supergirl season 2 new villain Lillian Luthor has the motivation to see the whole world burning except she wants to save the world for her son and daughter and she believes that by sending all the aliens from the earth is the right way to do it.
