Tamil Nadu Bypoll: The Election Commission of India on Thursday has announced that AIAMDK faction led by O Pannerselvam will be referred to as AIADMK Puratchi Thalaivi Amma and will fight the coming Radhakrishnan Nagar bypoll with the ‘electricity pole’ symbol. On the other hand, Saksikala faction will be referred to as AIADMK Amma and will contest by poll with the hat symbol.
Legacy quarrel between OPS and Sasikala
It is the latest episode in a bruising fight for the Patrimony of former chief minister Jayalalithaa who died in December. Sasikala, a long-time companion of the former CM, was named as her successor by the party, however days before her appointment; Pannerslevam raised his voice against her.
