Recently, a video has surfaced of brutally assaulting a woman in the Mainpuri district of Uttar Pradesh which exposes the safety of women in the state. It also unmasks the claim of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to maintain law and order. In the video, a group of men beating up the woman with a heavy stick and one of the attackers attacks several times with stick on her head.
The video has gone viral on social media. As per the reports, a victim was identified as Vandana Devi was moving in the busy market at Kishani village along with her husband Arvind Tiwari and daughter, suddenly one man came and pulled her dupatta and groped her.

Woman was thrashed by the three men with heavy stick
When she opposed him and confronted the man, she was in turn, thrashed with a stick. Her husband was also attacked by the men as their daughter is the witness to the terrific crime. Vandana Devi was bleeding from the head while her daughter followed her crying.
They both were beaten by the few people but nobody dared to speak a word in favor of the lady or took a stand instead of watching the entire incident. It is notable that the incident took place in Mainpuri that is considered as the stronghold of Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
But, the main thing which is more shocking that cops did not take the matter seriously and simply they were waving their hand to make her calm. Vandana Devi is seen in the video that the police is not taking the action against the accused.
An FIR has been registered against the three and investigation is still going on
She further threatens to shoot herself if Anand Yadav is not nabbed. On the other hand, Inspector Lakshman Singh of Kishani village told a case has been registered against three men. However, some online reports mentioned that Yadav was arrested on Wednesday morning.
The terrifying incident has taken place at the time when the assembly elections are scheduled to be held in 2017. CM Akhilesh Yadav is also seen several times in the rally stating that women safety is the priority of Samajwadi government. Now public wants to know is this the law and order which follows by your police?
It is worth mentioning here that, Akhilesh Yadav had recently launched the Power Angels initiative or the Shakti Pari initiative under 1090 in order to enable better redressal of women’s safety concerns.
The program largely aims to foster police-citizen partnership and promote a safer place for the women, but after happening these kinds of incidents in the state are making the circumstances tensed. The government should establish trust amid females other than just launching a helpline which does not reach the needy when required.
