UP Exit Poll: For conducting the exit polls by the leading newspaper Dainik Jagran with an agency, the Election Commission has ordered the District Election officers of Uttar Pradesh file FIRs against the both.
Jagran has published detailed report on exit poll
The newspaper had published a detailed report on the exit poll and showed that BJP will win the polls. The assembly polls will be held in seven phases which started from February 11 and state still, has to witness six more phases.
The ECI ordered that the District Election officers to immediately lodged a FIR against the managing Director of DRI and other authorities along with the editor of Dainik Jagaran under section 188 of the IPC and Section 126A and B of the RP act.

The Election Commission Spokesman Rajesh Malhotra said that “Chief Elections officer is to submit the compliance by 6 pm on Monday. The ECI, in its order, stated the reported violation by the Resource Development International (I) Pvt Ltd and Dainik Jagran by conducting the exit poll.”
Section 126 of the RP Act prohibits publication of such results thereof amounting to an offence. During the first face of voting on February 11 covered 73 seats in 15 districts. There is a triangular fighting between BJP, Cong-SP and BSP for hoisting their flag of victory in the 403 assembly seats in the UP.
